Ripsey Seat Bag V2

Ripsey V2 is here! We've taken everything we learned in the past two years to improve every single strap and attachment on our Ripsey harness.

The V2 has the same dry bag and overall features, but a new machined seat post clamp for even more stability, and a totally redesigned patent-pending saddle clamp that's compatible with carbon rails!

All-New More Robust Attachments

The Ripsey V2 has a brand-new patent-pending saddle clamp, with "half pipe" ABS shims that can rotate and slide to match your saddle rails. This creates a super-secure, no-slip fit that's also compatible with carbon rails. And we have two versions - one for most saddles and an extra-wide one for Brooks/Selle Anatomica/etc!

For the seat post attachment, we've gone away with the strap interface entirely and designed an aluminum clamp instead. The clamp is 31.6mm diameter with snap-in shims to fit other sizes or dropper posts - no more need for a Valais or Dropperblock clamp.

Every bag will ship with shims to 25 and 26mm stanchion dropper posts, as well as 27.2mm rigid posts. That covers every 30.9mm and 31.6mm dropper, as well as some 34.9mm droppers. Additional shims are available for all other droppers and 30.9mm rigid posts.

We've kept the Austere Manufacturing CNC-machined buckles - they're incredible for seat bag use. And combined with our Flagstaff-made aluminum clamps, every metal piece of the Ripsey is USA-made!

Best-in-class tire clearance

Wanna run your full sus 29er bikepacking? Or do you just have short legs? Either way, we hear ya. The Ripsey has a minimum tire clearance of just 3 inches, to fit on almost any bike, and the harness can withstand the occasional tire hit if you're running a full squish rig that doesn't have quite enough clearance. If you have extremely tight clearance (i.e. XS full-sus bikes), you can order the optional skid plate, which is replaceable if needed.

Behind the Name

All of our bags are named after sections of the Arizona Trail, which runs within a mile of our workshop in Flagstaff.

The Ripsey is named after Ripsey Ridge, a section of singletrack on the AZT that's been called the best ridgeline ride in Arizona.
