Campania International's new line of glazed and terra cotta pottery is high-fired between 990 (terra cotta) and 1000 (glazed) degrees centigrade to ensure frost resistance and durability. Due to the processes used in the manufacturing of our hand-made and hand-glazed containers, all variations with respect to firing, color, size and crackling are natural occurrences in the manufacturing process.

      Description

The Daralis Large Fountain is the absolute showstopper in your backyard. It’s not just some dinky garden gnome; we’re talking about a serious chunk of art here. Handcrafted from glazed pottery, so yeah, it’s got that “I’m fancy but I don’t try too hard” vibe. Empty, it’s 75 pounds (good luck moving it solo), and with about 2.5 gallons of water inside, it creeps up to 100. So, it’s not blowing away in the next gust of wind. It stands at 20 inches tall and just over 16 inches wide, which is honestly a solid size - big enough to get noticed, but not so massive it takes over your whole patio. It’s high-fired, super lightweight (for pottery, anyway), and laughs in the face of frost. Use it inside, outside, wherever. No plumbing nightmares either - just fill it up, plug it in, and boom: instant Zen.

The colors? Volcanic Coral, Riviera Blue, Mediterranean, White Coral... they’re all gorgeous, and because the glaze is all natural, each fountain looks a little different. You won’t find another one exactly like yours, which is kind of cool. And the sound? It’s got this echo thing going on. Not obnoxious, but you’ll hear it from across the deck. Plus, it’s designed so you don’t get that annoying splash everywhere - just the soothing sound of water doing its thing, no soggy shoes required.

We suggest that birdbath/fountain tops not be left outside in the winter. Once the top fills with water/snow and freezes, the top may crack. All birdbath/fountain bases, bench legs and statuary should be raised up off the ground in winter so they will not freeze to the ground surface. Ideally, a fountain should be stored indoors in the winter away from the elements. However, if a fountain bowl must be left outside, remove all pumps, rubber stoppers, drain pipes, finials and small components, and cover the top with burlap or any absorbent material (old blanket/towel) and then wrapped with dark plastic, making sure that water does not accumulate in the basin and freeze. Fountain pumps, finials, and other small components should be stored indoors. Check the fountain periodically to insure that the cover is secure and water is not accumulating in any fountain component.

      Winter Care

It is very important for you to protect your cast stone and pottery fountains, birdbaths, planters and statuary from the freeze-thaw cycle during the winter months. Ideally, cast stone and pottery decor that can collect water, should not be left outside when temperatures dip down to freezing. They should be stored indoors or in a dry protected place such as a covered porch or garage that is away from the elements. This is not always possible, so it is recommended that you completely dry out your decor and add a waterproof cover. This is because any cast stone or pottery component that can hold water and freeze has the potential to crack and crumble. Components such as fountain pedestals which remain in a basin/pool can also crack or crumble.
